RIP Andy Gill!
During a short trip to Koln in Germany, i have enjoyed:
- A visit to A Musik, one of my favorite recordstores in Europe, where "a tip" sticker almost always means it's a great record!
- The drawings of Siegfried Anzinger at Salon Schmitz, a café/ restaurant. Though it seems it's not mentioned on their website.
- Albert Mayr's exhibition at Petra Martinetz Gallery
- Playing a gig at Gold + Beton alongside Bobby Would and Albert Mayr.
Gold+Beton is almost exactly the same as Gunther, the space Vaast Colson and myself ran at Oudaan. It's a half hexogonic space that mostly consists out of glass windows and a cold floor. There's no real heating, except for a small rotatiing electrical fire. The toilets are tiled, there's no real stage. And the space is housed in a sort of pit, a failed shopping mall in the centre of town. Sounds familiar.. A great underground spot ran with a big heart for experimental music and art! Thank you to Meryem and Jan Lankish for setting this up
